On Thursday, President Donald Trump’s attorney and associate Rudy Giuliani tweeted that the election in Georgia is “NOW PROVEN TO BE A FRAUD.”
He did not elaborate on what his proof is.
Rudy has yet to provide any actual proof of his claims, but just saying it in ALL CAPs makes it true. Right?
On a daily basis, Trump claims that his legal team will be presenting evidence of massive, coordinated voter fraud. His most ardent supporters are suggesting that he call out the military and under armed supervision redo the presidential election. You would think that with the stakes so high that Trump's legal team would be commensurate with the gravity of the situation. You would be wrong. His legal gang is so bad that it almost seems they aren't really trying to forward potentially successful litigation.
Reuters crime and justice reporter Brad Heath commented on what he called an “amazing pattern” of mistakes by Powell’s team.
“Just an amazing pattern of lawyers showing up with what they say are the most important cases ever filed and botching the basics,” Heath tweeted on Wednesday. “Even the President’s lawyers screwed up the everyday rules for suing people.”
“These are the mistakes you see when prisoners represent themselves,” the reporter added.
Trump is not in this to overturn the election, he is in this to keep collecting contributions from his MAGA minions. Money that goes directly to Trump, not to his election related legal actions. Clearly, those actions can't be very expensive considering the level of incompetence shown by his legal team as they have lost something like 40 of 41 cases they have put forward.

This is what you get when you elect a psychopath to the highest office in the land. A mentally unstable narcissist, without normal human empathy is not a good leadership candidate. Trump's exit from the presidency is turning into a giant financial windfall for Trump. Trump has raised over $150 million since election day. Ostensibly, this money is for his legal fight against the non-existent "voting fraud" that cost him the election. However, the small print in the virtual flood of financial appeals with which Trump is inundating his small dollar donors explains that the vast majority of the money raised goes to a Trump political action committee. A committee that Trump controls who's funds can be used by Trump for almost any purpose with virtually no oversight.
I anxiously await the inevitable declaration that servicing the debt on a golf course in Scotland consists of "political activities" once the Oval Office has been fumigated. But holy hell, $150 million, raised through one of the most obvious shell games in the history of American politics?
Trump isn't stupid when it comes to grifting. Clearly, when he meets with his well heeled rightwing Cristo-fascist "spiritual" advisors, they don't spend their time discussing "two Corinthians." I suspect they spend most of their time discussing the effectiveness of direct mail and text appeals for funds to finance the lavish lifestyles of fundie grifters.
Trump may or may not believe that his gang of incompetent lawyers will find a way to steal the election for him. But, he does sleep well at night knowing that he will have conned his MAGA faithful out of a couple hundred million dollars that will allow him to continue in his ostentatious life style.
