Declaring you have a plan (the best plan ever) isn't the same as actually having a plan. Trump approach to Covid-19 was to say stuff, but do nothing. So, instead of a grand plan to get the approved vaccines to everyone in the country, Trump and his team had just a notebook filled with Trump's doodles.
In what must be a shocking revelation for everyone … Trump lied. The military was never put in charge of vaccine distribution. Instead, it was contracted out to private companies. But that wasn’t the end of the problems with the distribution. While Trump and former HHS Secretary Alex Azar talked up a “federal stockpile” of vaccine that they were handing out carefully to make sure everyone got their prescribed two doses, it took until just before Azar’s departure before the truth came out. There was no stockpile.
It’s now clear that President Joe Biden isn’t just walking in to find the vaccine cupboards bare, but absolutely no real plan for handing out vaccine. Biden’s team is starting from scratch.
