Trump's Amy Coney Barrett Super Spreader Event has claimed another casualty. White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany revealed that she has tested positive for Covid-19 as of this morning. McEnany has close contact with a number of people who have been confirmed as having Covid-19, but has continued working in the White House and has routinely refused to wear a mask. Until today, she claimed that her daily negative tests allowed her to ignore CDC guidelines that call for individuals who have had close contact with infected person(s) to self-quarantine for 14 days. McEnany claims that she as an "essential" worker she is exempt from that requirement.
According to a New York Times report Sunday, McEnany came into the office despite exposure to the virus over the weekend. The White House said she was “fine” because she is tested daily. For that reason, she could ignore the Coronavirus Task Force guidelines to quarantine for 14 days after exposure.
McEnany's primary job is feed the press distortions, half-truths and outright lies on a daily basis. That seems like something she could accomplish as easily from home than at the mega (MAGA) Covid-19 cluster that the White House has become.
UPDATED: Two members of McEnany's staff have been reported tested positive for Covid-19, including Deputy Press Secretary, Chad Gilmartin and an as yet unidentified second staff member.
